وهذا لا يعود لأسباب فنية أكثر مما هي أسباب سياسية، لأن محطة مياه علوك في ريف الحسكة والتي تبعد نحو عشرة كيلومترات شرقي مدينة رأس العين تخضع لمراقبة تركيا والميليشيات المتحالفة معها. فهي تزود المناطق التي تقع تحت سيطرة الإدارة الكردية في شمال سوريا وتشكل شوكة في عين تركيا. ولذلك نجدها في أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول الماضي في إطار ما سُمي “بعملية نبع السلام” قد احتلت أجزاء من المنطقة الكردية على طول الحدود التركية، الأمر الذي أدى إلى سقوط محطة مياه علوك في يد تركيا.

والمؤكد هو أنه منذ يوم السبت ( 21 مارس/ آذار 2020) لم يعد الماء يأتي من علوك. وهذا ما أكدته جهات مختصة. ومنذ أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول الماضي تحصل انقطاعات في المياه. وبسبب حالات كورونا الأولى في سوريا، فإن انقطاع الماء يأتي في  وقت حرج. والقلق يدور حول الناس بمخيمات اللاجئين في المنطقة الكردية. ففي مخيم الهول وحده المعني أيضا بانقطاعات الماء يعيش حاليا 67 ألف شخص في مساحة ضيقة. والظروف الصحية في هذا المخيم وغيره سيئة للغاية. وعند توقف التزود بالماء فإنه يصبح من المستحيل على الناس اتباع أبسط الإجراءات الصحية كغسل اليدين. “وإذا ما وصل كورونا إلى المخيمات، فإن المرض سينتشر هناك كالنار في الهشيم”، يحذر الخبراء.

تحاول الإدارة الذاتية الكردية الحفاظ على تزويد الناس بالمياه باستخدام شاحنات الصهاريج، كما يتم أحيانا استخدام عربات الإطفاء.
